#344 Don't Lie About Being a Navy Seal

Local pastor made up elaborate Navy SEAL tale

Today's cautionary tale of embellished bravado comes from Jim Moats, the pastor at Christian Bible Fellowship Church in Newville, Penn.

He spun stories about his time as Navy Seal back it the Vietnam War including such extra special memories like being waterboarded during his training. The only thing is that Jim Moats was never a Navy Seal, he served in the Navy, yes, but never as a Navy Seal.

Its interesting that the Seal representative quoted in the story notes that they often have to deal with people lying about having been Seals and they find that the clergy especially likes to lie about it, presumably, in order to generate credibility with their flock.

I hope his flock now looks at him like the red-faced lying sack of excrement he is. He's not even close to a hero, he's nothing but an empty bag of gas and lies. And I hope he pays a price for his lying. His lies diminish the actions of the real Navy Seals who are heroes and who do put their lives on the line when told to. Jim Moats is just a sad loser pretending to be something he's not even a shadow of.

Rule #344 is Don't Lie About Being a Navy Seal
