UC hits tree-sitters with expensive surprise after their 20 month occupation of the grove of trees outside Memorial Stadium.
Their protest cost the school more than $800,000 and the school is sending the bill to the students responsible for the incursion of the cost. Seems pretty reasonable to me. That breaks down to more than $10,000 per sitter.
The students knew what they were doing was illegal and they did it anyway, this is the cost of their principles.
Note, I'm not knocking the students though I think they carried the protest on about a year too long and to no good end.
But yeah, Rule #211 is What? You Thought Protesting was Free?
