Windsor teen survives Golden Gate Bridge jump
The kid apparently was dared to jump by his classmates and so he did. He fell about 200 feet into the cold waters of the San Francisco Bay and suffered a broken tailbone and some damage to his lungs but was mostly otherwise okay.
Still, to say he's lucky is a massive understatement. People commit suicide by jumping off the bridge. There's a reason for that. Its a really, really long way to fall onto the water. Note, I don't say into the water because, from that height, the water is effectively concrete.
How this kid survived is a miracle but I would take the under on the bet for how long this kid lives beyond this since he seems kind of stupid for doing it in the first place.
And I'd like to note that I grew up jumping from bridges into the Connecticut River in New England, about 30 or 40 feet, and from the cliffs above the Copper Mines, about 70 feet, outside of my town. But 200 feet is no joke and there's simply no way he should have survived.
Rule #335 is Don't Jump from Bridges
