#387 Don't Strap Your Children to the Hood of Your Car (and Drive Drunk)

Dad Straps 4 Kids to Hood of Car and Drives Away

Not candidates for parents of the year.
Does it really need to be said that, said dad, Aaron Stefanski, was more than twice the legal limit and driving drunk at the time? No, that was pretty much a given. Either drunk or raging. Three of the kids were Aaron's and one was his passenger, Jessica A. Clark's. And neither seemed to realize the insanely stupid thing they were doing in public.

From what fine establishment did they drive away with four kids strapped to the hood? Why, a liquor store, of course. I could see possibly doing this at home in a field and at extremely low speeds. It's not that much different from riding in the back of a pick up truck. Not very safe either way though.

The Journal Gazette said that according to a probable cause affidavit, Stefanski's blood alcohol level was 0.17 percent, more than twice the legal limit. He was charged with three felony counts of neglect of a dependent, felony operating a vehicle while intoxicated and four misdemeanor counts of criminal recklessness. Clark was arrested on a charge of felony neglect of a dependent.

All that just because he thought it would be a hoot if the kids got to ride on the hood of the car, safety be damned.

Rule #387 is Don't Strap Your Children to the Hood of Your Car (and Drive Drunk)
